Cards that Give Back; Pink Pearl Canada

We did it – another incredible Cards that Give Back program has come and gone, and if I am being honest, I am very proud of this program and what it has become. I worked for a not-for-profit for many years and moving over to entrepreneurship left me with a bit of a void. I knew I needed to find a way to give back to my community though PS, and Cards that Give Back became just that.

This initiative is as much about funds as it is about community and awareness. It's about shedding light on the incredible work that people in our own communities are doing.

As an important part of this year’s plan for Cards that Give back, I wanted to offer something in addition to the the option to purchase cards. When initially sitting down to meet with Elise Gasbarrino, ovarian cancer survivor and Pink Pearl founder, we spoke about working to bridge the gap between someone facing a diagnosis and their support person. It’s hard to know what to say and what is actually helpful in the moment when someone shares the news with you. Along with each purchase from the initiative, we offered a simple resource developed in partnership with their Director of Psychosocial Support. I am proud to continue to offer this free, downloadable file right on paperscript.ca.

With this initiative, I was able to raise and donate an incredible $1145. I am motivated by engaging with organizations that support efforts near and dear to my heart especially those that are local to my hometown. Thank you to everyone who purchased and supported this important cause!

A special thanks goes out to Ashleigh Dixon of Dixon Ink and Beth Sacilot of Elizabeth Jane Studios for being an important part of this initiative and donating their time, talent and resources. Thank you also to Elise, Melaina and the lovely team at Pink Pearl, I am so grateful to call you friends.

If you are looking to support a cause that makes a real difference in the lives of women facing cancer in Canada, I highly recommend getting involved with Pink Pearl. Together, we can help these women feel supported, empowered, and hopeful as they navigate through their cancer journey. For more information, visit pinkpearlcanada.org and please follow along with PS as we continue to expand the Cards that Give Back initiative in 2024.
